A brief update on our adoption fund-raising for all of those interested. Early last month, we mailed in our application for a matching-grant from Lifesong For Orphans, a ministry dedicated to serving orphans. Yesterday, I received a call from the woman who has been reviewing our application. She asked me a few questions regarding if anything had changed (which it had not) and said that she’ll be sending the request to their president for review, since he knows what funds are currently available. She said it should take about 4-6 weeks until we hear back.
For those of you who are like I was before I dove into this new world of adoption and all of its lingo and processes, a matching grant means that Lifesong will agree to match all donations we raise dollar for dollar. So if you only got 5 bucks to give, it’s automatically turned into 10 bucks! This would be an amazing blessing to our fund-raising for the adoption of our 2 little babies!
So not only am I hoping and praying to be approved for a matching grant, but that they’ll approve us for $12,000. This means that if we’re able to raise $12,000, then they’ll match the other $12,000. And vuala, our $24,000 is raised!
But even if funds aren’t available through Lifesong, they can still get us set up to receive donations through them in order to be tax-deductible. This, too, is fantastic.
So please be praying!
